This Master's program provides a broad understanding and knowledge in the fields of Communication and Information Technology, e.g. wireless communication systems. It also introduces non-technical subjects dealing with economics, legal and social issues and leads to the required skills for entry into the professions of Information and Communication Engineering. DESCRIPTION OF SUBJECT

This Master's program provides a broad understanding and knowledge in the fields of Communication and Information Technology, e.g. wireless communication systems. It also introduces non-technical subjects dealing with economics, legal and social issues and leads to the required skills for entry into the professions of Information and Communication Engineering. The institutes of the faculty rank among the top five in Germany with respect to research funds raised. They cooperate closely with national and international industry and other research centers on research projects involving the latest technology. Students are encouraged to participate in these projects. Funding opportunities are available in limited number.

Subsequent non-teaching occupational fields

Engineers from Communication and Information Technology are sought after in a wide range of fields including industrial and non-industrial research, planning, development, implementation, production, distribution, and maintenance of all types of information technology systems.

Teacher training (Lehramt)

Possibilities for additional qualifications

Graduates qualify for admission to doctoral studies.

  • 3 semesters of lectures, exercises, seminars and laboratory courses
  • core modules and additional elective courses
  • six months master's thesis during semester 4

APPLICATION AND ENROLMENT

Recommended abilities/ target groups/ requirements placed on students

First degree (Bachelor of Science or Engineering, German FH Diploma) in Electrical Engineering or closely related field awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution. Above average results in undergraduate studies. Certificate of adequate English language skills at level C1 (CEFR) (corresponding to TOEFL iBT with at least 95 scores or IELTS at least 7.0). Industrial experience is welcome but not a must.
